Richard at Malibu Creek State Park
Beauty at the Beach This series of spots features spokesman Richard Karn in various natural settings in an attempt to link the recycling of rechargeable batteries to the preservation of the environment.

The beach spot ran on NBC and the CNN airport network.
The four day shoot took the crew to Palm Springs, Big Bear Lake, LAX, Leo Carillo State Beach, Malibu Creek State Park, and Pacific Palisades. LAX Tim Evans wrote and directed the spots. I my usual grip and electric crew, including Gaffer Alan Backstrum. We shot with a Panavision G-II, J.L. Fisher and Jib and my favorite remote system Hot Gears
I was surprised how easy it is to shoot at LAX and on State Park land. There was a state sponsored rebate for many of the expenses incurred while shooting on State land. The people at LAX were very cooperative, and it it wasn't very expensive to shoot there either, although we did have a very long distro run to get power from the generator to the set.
